Rant!!!!

01:34 May 21 2010
Times Read: 1,013

Read at your own risk, this is my opinion you don't like it don't read it. You can only hold yourself reliable by reading it.

“You know what really grinds my gears.”

Mothers that shouldn’t be mothers bugs the shit out of me. Today for instance was a moment that they should have asked themselves should they have procreated. In Wal-Mart there was this crying infant that was wailing her little lungs out while the mother was in the check out just gossiping with someone else. Ignoring her crying baby, that could have needed something urgent but yet did nothing to comfort their baby. I wanted to go up to her and slap the shit out of her. What’s wrong with you???? Your baby needs your attention.

Second case in point. Driving back from Wal-Mart, mother is watching her kids play on a train track. WTF seriously you let your kids do that. She had 3 that were running up and down the tracks sure there wasn’t a train coming but come on. What would happen if you weren’t there? What would happen if you couldn’t get them off the tracks they became stuck? I wanted to drive up there and bitch slap her back to reality.

Time was different when I grew up. You could let your kids play without any supervision what so ever. Times were safer supposedly. You could play in the yard and not worried about some stranger with perverted tendencies picking you up and doing bad things to you.

Which really brings me to the bigger question SOCIETY “what happened to you?

You used to be cool you’ve changed man.” (Ari is very fond of saying this) remind me to tell you about his puppets.

You want a real fraud that you will be totally not into psychics Look up old episodes of most haunted. Derrek on the show was supposed to be a good one but seemed like he was getting possessed by spirits almost every single episode. I'm a mild skeptic as well. I do believe it's possible to happen, but not on a constant basis.

This show just got a lot worse as it progressed, Ghost Hunters is getting as bad with knocking. I truly hate the theory that knocking is solid proof or even mild proof of something being there. Knock off the Knocking.

Another thing that upsets me is the music that they play over the episodes, to where you can't hear anything except the people saying did you hear that because the music overwhelms the background. Take off the damn music I want to hear what they are hearing.

Possibly an answer to why they call it Skinny Dipping

18:56 May 14 2010
Times Read: 1,056

The real answer actually is obvious once you get beyond the skinny-equals-thin link in your brain. Skinny, of course, comes from skin. In the 16th century it meant 'formed from skin' or 'being characterized by skin'. It wasn't until early in the 17th century that you find skinny used to mean 'thin'. In fact, the first written citation of this meaning for skinny is in Shakespeare's Macbeth (I,iii): "Each at once her choppie finger laying Vpon her skinnie Lips" (1605).

So, the skinny in skinny dipping is not new at all, rather it recalls the meaning that was primary from the 15th to the 18th centuries. Skinny dipping is a kind of dip, one that is characterized by lots of skin.

My Top TEN Songs of the 80's

04:29 May 14 2010
Times Read: 1,076

So I’ve decided to come up with a list of my personal TOP TEN 80’s Songs with honorable mentions.

Number 10

Don’t You Want Me Baby by Human League

Number 9

Land Down Under by Men At Work

Number 8

Send Me an Angel By Real Life

Number 7

A View To a kill (aka Theme to James Bond movie with the same title ) by Duran Duran

Number 6

Take Me on By Aha

Number 5

99 Red balloons aka 99 luft balloons By Nena (both versions are equally good)

Number 4

Enjoy the Silence by Depeche Mode

Number 3

Tainted Love by Soft Cell

Number 2

Safety Dance By Men Without Hats

Honarable mentions

(all songs done in the 80’s by Depeche Mode)

(New Order Substance the entire disk set)

(Mexican Radio by Wall of Voodoo)

(Anything done by Duran Duran in the 80s)

(Information Society (self titled CD))

(Classic Metallica) None of that new stuff that is proclaimed as Metallica

Most Hair bands (ie twisted sister)

There’s so much more I could list but I’d take up way too much space listing all my favorites maybe one day I’ll just do the 100 80’s songs I like (yes there are that many.)

And the Number 1 80’s song of All time in my opinion

Opportunities (Let’s make lots of money) by Pet Shop boys.

Remember This is just my opinion you may disagree with me but these are the 10 that stick out in my mind most often. The whole reason I’m even writing this is due to the fact that most of the songs are now classified as oldies which is a sign that good songs are hard to find like these were. This was the decade that Truly spoke to me. Don’t get me wrong there are a few newer bands that I do enjoy but none to date have the same impact on me.

The Expendables (2010)

19:19 May 05 2010
Times Read: 1,109

With all these stars some of them getting too old to do any action movies. Makes me wonder if this will be their last great movie.

Director:

Sylvester Stallone

Plot:

THE EXPENDABLES is a hard-hitting action/thriller about a group of mercenaries hired to infiltrate a South American country and overthrow its ruthless dictator. Once the mission begins, the men realize things arent quite as they appear, finding themselves caught in a dangerous web of deceit and betrayal. With their mission thwarted and an innocent life in danger, the men struggle with an even tougher challenge one that threatens to destroy this band of brothers.

Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) is a man with nothing to lose. Fearless and void of emotion, he is the leader, the sage and the strategist of this tight-knit band of men who live on the fringe. His only attachment is to his pickup truck, his seaplane and his team of loyal modern-day warriors. His is a true cynic who describes what he does as removing those hard to get at stains. The team behind him is made up of Lee Christmas (Jason Statham), former SAS and a savant with anything that has a blade; Yin Yang (Jet Li), a master at close-quarter combat; Hale Caesar (Terry Crews), who has known Barney for ten years and is a long-barrel weapons specialist; Toll Road (Randy Couture), a skilled demolitions expert and considered the intellect of the group; and Gunnar Jensen (Dolph Lundgren), a combat veteran and an expert in precision sniping who struggles with his own demons.

When the mysterious Church offers Barney a job no one else would take, Barney and his team embark on what appears to be a routine mission: overthrow General Gaza (David Zayas), the murderous dictator of the small island country of Vilena and end the years of death and destruction inflicted on its people. On a reconnaissance mission to Vilena, Barney and Christmas meet their contact Sandra (Giselle Itie), a local freedom-fighter with a dark secret. They also come to learn who their true enemy is: rogue ex-CIA operative James Monroe (Eric Roberts) and his henchman Paine (Steve Austin). When things go terribly wrong, Barney and Christmas are forced to leave Sandra behind, essentially giving her a death sentence. Haunted by this failure, Barney convinces the team to return to Vilena to rescue the hostage and finish the job he started. And to perhaps save a soul: his own.

Starting Who have some odd names.

Sylvester Stallone ... Barney 'The Schizo' Ross

Jason Statham ... Lee Christmas

Jet Li ... Yin Yang

Dolph Lundgren ... Gunnar Jensen

Eric Roberts ... James Monroe

Randy Couture ... Toll Road

Steve Austin ... Dan Paine

David Zayas ... General Garza

Giselle Itié ... Sandra

Terry Crews ... Hale Caesar

Mickey Rourke ... Tool

other cast:

Bruce Willis ... Mr. Church

Arnold Schwarzenegger ... Trench

Brittany Murphy

Danny Trejo

Charisma Carpenter ... Lacy

Gary Daniels ... American Operative #2

Amin Joseph ... Pirate leader

Senyo Amoaku ... Tall Pirate

Stuff

05:41 May 05 2010

Something always seems to upset me about this state. Here’s the newest thing going on. Guess who wants a stadium now. The Minnesota Vikings do. Take a guess who’s paying for it. Taxpayers.

2 times this has happened. And our governor doesn’t do anything to stop it

The Minnesota Gophere (TCF Stadium) $288.5 million tax apyers.

Twins (Target Field) Taxpayers paying 350 Million for it. The Metrodome is still useful.

Vikings want a field too. What’s wrong with the Metrodome?

1st you want it now you don’t make up your mind.

Do I get to see free games for paying for a building for you ?

No

So why should I have to pay for it. I don’t even like baseball football that much.

Vikings fans would pay $42 million at the stadium through an admission tax and concession surtax.

For this 1100million dollar project it would cost us 20 million only if the Vikings played elsewhere.

Hmmm 20 million vs 42 million

Here’s a list of times the Vikings have been to a superbowl and lost like they always do

Minnesota Vikings Superbowl History:

Superbowl IV (1970) lost 23-7

Superbowl VIII (1974) lost 24-7

Superbowl IX (1975) lost 16-6

Superbowl XI (1977) lost 32-14

1977 2 years after I was born was the last time they went. I don’t think even with Farve’s help they will ever get there. We have the worst defence of all time. The offence doesn’t cover when they should. And I got that from only watching a bit of them play.

Again there is nothing wrong with the Metrodome. If you don’t want it deconstruct it and build in it’s place seriously. It’s going to be a ghost dome if the Vikings leave, I’m not sure on this but I think we are still paying for that one.’

*ahem*

I would like to direct you to the bill being footed by ALL New York State taxpayers so New York City can build a stadium for the crappy New Jersey Jets.

At a proposed $1.44 BILLION with over $600 million coming out of public coffers.

Why? because everything NYC does has the side-effect of bankrupting the rest of the state, since all of us need to pay for it.

A team that DOES NOT need a stadium is the flipping Chiefs and they got Arrowhead Stadium. People that want something will do what it takes to get it, rather it helps or hinders. The chiefs are the worst team in the NFL by far. But there are some STUPID diehard fans. and it sickens me.

twoforme

The Vikings wanted a new stadium back in 2005. I think they should get it.

There isn't enough parking where they play now and the last I heard they wanted to move it further out of downtown MPLS. They also want the roof to be open but able to close if needed.

The Twins got a new one why not let them get one too. The Metrodome is out of date for what they are looking for and to put a retractable roof on would cost more.
